Girdwood K-8 School Overview
Girdwood School is a public K-8 school operated by the Anchorage School District. The school features a beautiful mountain campus, small class sizes, and an integrated environmental curriculum that utilizes the surrounding rainforest for hands-on learning.
High School Options
Because Girdwood does not have a local high school, older students commute via bus to South Anchorage High School, or enroll in public charter, virtual, or home-school programs within the district.
Youth Sports & Ski Clubs
Girdwood kids grow up on the slopes and trails. The local Alyeska Ski Club offers elite-level alpine and Nordic racing programs, while summer features mountain biking leagues and soccer camps.
