Electric & Natural Gas Setup
Electricity in Girdwood is provided by Chugach Electric Association, a member-owned cooperative. Heating natural gas is serviced by ENSTAR. For homes off the main gas line, heating is managed via private heating oil or propane delivery services.
Water, Sewer & Trash Services
Water and wastewater utilities are managed by the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility (AWWU). Trash collection is managed by Alaska Waste; due to active bear populations in the valley, bear-proof trash containers are mandatory for all residential properties.
Internet & Telecommunications
GCI provides high-speed cable and fiber-backed internet in the valley, offering speeds up to 1 Gbps. Starlink satellite internet is also a popular choice for properties nestled deep in the forest canopy.
