Girdwood Forest Fair Camping Rules & Permits

Camping during the Girdwood Forest Fair is strictly regulated to protect the local environment and ensure public safety. Learn where you can camp legally and how to obtain permits.

Designated Forest Fair Campgrounds

Camping is permitted ONLY in official, designated Forest Fair campgrounds. A camping permit is required and must be purchased beforehand. Dispersed camping in the Girdwood valley, parks, or residential streets is strictly prohibited.

Campground Rules & Noise Curfews

Campgrounds enforce quiet hours starting at midnight. Bears are active in Girdwood; all food, trash, and scented items must be stored in bear-proof containers or locked vehicles. Fires are permitted only in designated metal rings.

Booking Early & Fees

Campsites sell out months in advance of the July weekend. Ensure you secure your permit and review campground map layouts before arriving.
